Hong Kong jeweller niin lifted the veil on its latest “eco-chic” jewellery collection in collaboration with Austrian jewellery house AENEA.

A private viewing of the Alaria Collection was held on June 22 in Hong Kong. The first collaboration between AENEA and niin was described as “a daring exploration of fine jewellery with an environmental mindset.”

The event shone the spotlight on six pieces from the Alaria Collection before it is formally launched in Austria and Hong Kong in August and September, respectively.

Inspired by the colours and forms of aquatic life, the Alaria Collection was handcrafted using palladium 950 and uses conflict-free stones including rainbow moonstone and diamonds.

Pieces in the Alaria Collection fall within the HK$10,000 (around US$1,300) to HK$242,700 (more than US$31,000) price range. According to niin and AENEA, 5 percent of sales will be donated the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation (HKAHK).

AENEA is a contemporary Austrian jeweller known for its captivating designs and top-quality products, headed by HRH Prince Costan Eghiazarian. It has an atelier in the medieval heritage town of Salzburg and appearances around the world hosted by its Travelling Atelier. Named after the Greek verb “to praise,” AENEA is devoted to the celebration of life and love through the lasting pleasures of great jewellery.

Launched in 2009 and represented in over 13 countries, Hong Kong-based niin handcrafts nature’s treasures to create original jewellery and accessories, with sustainable practices at its core.

Founder and creative director Jeanine Hsu built niin around her passion for unique design and raw creativity while emphasising jewellery that is both chic and wearable. Hsu was recently awarded the Eco-Warrior Award at the HKAHF Women of Hope Awards 2017.
